EnergySys at ECIM E&P Data Management and IM Conference, Norway

EnergySys will be speaking at the ECIM E&P Data Management and IM Conference in Haugesund, Norway on Tuesday 17th September.

This three day annual event (16th-18th September 2013) has emerged as one of the most important conference and meeting places in Europe for Information Management professionals and is well recognized for its workshops and “Best Practice” presentations held by representatives from the industry for the industry. More than 330 participants joined the conference last year.

As part of the jam-packed agenda, Dr Peter Black, Founder and MD of EnergySys, will be delivering a session at 11am on Tuesday the 17th, exploring the role of web services and linked data in building a global data space that delivers the benefits of a combination of internal and cloud systems.

The benefits of the cloud are increasingly clear, as a new generation of agile oil and gas companies embrace the ability to respond flexibly and rapidly to change. However, traditional models of information management, and mechanisms for application integration and control, are not appropriate for a service-oriented world.

Peter’s talk, ‘Agile Information Management in a Cloudy World’, will discuss the emerging global data space, and the lessons that can be applied from linked data and the architecture of the web. With practical examples, attendees will see how information can be accessed and linked dynamically, and how there can be seamless and secure linking between internal and cloud applications.

The ECIM 2013 Conference and Work Streams will include the following topics:

  • Enterprise Information Management (EIM)
  • GI (Geographical Information) Data Management
  • Drilling, Production and Reservoir DM
  • Exploration & Development DM
  • Collaboration & Standardization
  • IM Services & Tools
